Learn the craft. Build the confidence
Hands-on education in braiding, locs, and textured hair care—designed to help you master your skills and reconnect with your roots.
About our Founder
Hey y’all, I am Imanyi Hobbs. I was born right here at CHOMP but spent majority of my upbringing in the Mississippi Delta where I learned most of my culture, skills, and principles. I moved back to the Peninsula post-Pandemic to support and expand my family.
I’m the founder of Textured Hair Care Academy, where I teach the art, care, and mastery of textured hair through structured, hands-on education.
I created this academy to bridge the gap I saw in my community—where many individuals were never properly taught how to care for their hair. That lack of knowledge often leads to frustration, low confidence, and a disconnect from identity and culture.
With years of hands-on experience specializing in locs, braiding, and textured hair care, I’ve worked with clients of all ages—helping them not only maintain healthy hair but feel confident in it.
Textured Hair Care Academy is not just about learning styles—it’s about building real skill, confidence, and independence. My approach focuses on structure, technique, and understanding—not just copying what you see.
I work with aspiring stylists, parents, and individuals who are ready to learn, grow, and take ownership of their hair journey—whether for personal care or professional development.
Because when you understand your hair, you don’t just look better—you feel better. And that confidence carries into every area of your life.
